Silhill Crime Update

Good Evening,

Here is your WMnow update for what has been going on in the Silhill area since our last message and what the team has been up to.

Crime Update: 

There was an Attempt Residential Burglary on Links Drive which happened at 1300hrs on 28/09/2026 whereby offenders have tried to force a front wooden door open, nothing was stolen from the address. 

There was a interference with vehicle on Ratcliffe Road at 0252hrs on 25/08/2026 whereby 2 offenders were seen gaining access to a Ford Tourneo. Nothing was stolen from within the vehicle and there was no damage to the vehicle. 

There was a residential Burglary on Warwick Road which happened between 0100hrs - 0200hrs on 29/08/2026 whereby the suspect has entered the porch of the address before entering the house via an insecure front door, nothing was stolen from within the address.

There was a residential Burglary on Ferndown Road which happened at 2350hrs on 2350hrs on 28/08/2026 whereby x2 males have turned up at the victims address on E-Bikes. One of the males was seen at the front acting as a lookout whilst the other male climbed over the gate into the rear garden before snapping the lock on the rear door. A search of inside the address was conducted before the male was scared off from the address by the victim, nothing was stolen. 

There was a interference with vehicle on Moat Lane which happened overnights on 27/08/2026 whereby the suspect has approached a Black Geely vehicle and using an unknown implement have caused a small chip to the rear window. No entry was gained and nothing was stolen. 

There was a Theft From Motor Vehicle on Union Road between 25/08/2026 - 29/06/2026 whereby suspect has gained entry the victims Blue Mercedes Vito vehicle by smashing the rear window and stealing a Dewalt Plung Saw. 

Good News:

On Monday, we responded to a report of an attempt Theft whereby x3 males tried stealing the victims pedal cycle. Whilst speaking with victim, 2 males were pointed out as being involved and were on the upper deck of a bus which was travelling out of Solihull. Hot on buses tail, our officers located the bus and detained 2 males who were sat on the upper deck. Both of the males were searched whereby 1 of them was found with a large amount of cannabis. Both of the males details were confirmed and enquires continue in relation to the Theft. The saying 'YOU CAN BUT YOU CAN'T HIDE' fits perfectly with this. 

Once our team completed the paperwork for this job, we resumed our foot patrol around in and around Solihull Town Centre. Within minutes of resuming patrol our attention was drawn to a female who was causing damage to a Police vehicle. Whilst trying to remove the female from the roof of our vehicle, she proceeded to Assault one of our officers and was swiftly bought under control before being arrested for Assault Police and Criminal Damage. No Assault will ever be tolerated, especially when we are trying to do our job of keeping our community safe. 

We continue to have reports of vehicles speeding on our area; we of course take all reports of this nature seriously and have a range of tactics which we can use to combat this sort of issue. We are still looking for members of our community to help tackle this issue by conducting community speed watch checks in locations highlighted by you, the residents. Training will be given by your local DNO who will be present during the speed watch.
